Technical Implementation

In order to be able to present the repertoire in its entire spectrum of variants, a flexible web application is being developed that goes beyond a purely static representation. This enables interactive use, with which each composition can be specifically called up in one of the edited variants.

We rely on open-source software/tools and file formats (MEI / TEI). that are established in the field of digital music editing. On the server side, a Python/Flask-based application will be used; for the display and manipulation of music texts, we rely on the mature Javascript and Python library Verovio.

The free editors "MEISE" and "mei-friend" are used for editing and correcting MEI files.
